Abstract

Occupational health focuses not only on preventing accidents and occupational diseases, but also on maintaining physical fitness so that employees remain healthy and productive. Physical fitness is defined as the body's ability to perform daily activities without excessive fatigue and still have energy reserves. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and individual characteristics (age, gender, exercise habits) with the fitness level of employees of the Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency. The background of this study is the results of the Employee Fitness Test in May 2024 which showed that the majority of employees were in the sufficient and insufficient categories, with a fairly high prevalence of overweight and obesity. The study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design on 45 samples from 89 employees. Secondary data were obtained from the results of the Health History Screening and Fitness Test of Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency Employees in May 2025. Univariate analysis was used to describe the distribution of variables, while Bivariate Analysis (Spearman Test) was used to see the relationship between variables. The results showed a significant relationship between nutritional status, age, gender, and exercise habits with fitness levels. It was concluded that overnutrition and lack of physical activity were the main factors in low fitness. The research recommendations are to provide balanced nutrition education, implement increased physical activity/routine exercise and strengthen occupational health programs in the agency environment.
