Abstract

Elementary schools in Indonesia contribute to the education of the nation's children, producing high-achieving, competent, and highly competitive students. Students not only receive education to become qualified teachers, but are also expected to develop skills and potential, possess good moral values, obey their parents and teachers, and bring happiness to their parents, the nation, and future generations. However, the learning process remains one-way, resulting in less active classroom learning. Consequently, teachers employ the Peer Tutoring method to encourage students to be more active and enthusiastic about working on assignments. This study aims to determine how the process of planning the peer tutor method, the implementation of the peer tutor method and to determine the effect of the peer tutor method on student learning outcomes. This type of research is qualitative research with a Classroom Action Research approach that uses data in the form of information based on findings in the field. The research population was grade III students of SDS Al Ikhlash East Jakarta. The sample taken was 5 students who became tutors and 7 students who were tutored, using Classroom Action Research. Research data was obtained through observation, interviews and documentation.
